Mrs. La Shawn Davis is a qualified Educational Psychologist and has been employed as a Guidance Counselor within the public school system in Trinidad and Tobago for almost a decade. She is a child advocate and believes that all children deserve to be heard, understood and loved in a way that caters to their individual needs.

Who is LaShawn Davis?

LaShawn Davis is an Educational Psychologist who has a decade of service as a Guidance Officer within the public and private education system in Trinidad and Tobago. She holds a Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Behavioral Sciences with an emphasis in Psychology and Sociology from Andrew's University, Berrien Springs, Michigan, is certified in Guidance and Counseling through the University of the West Indies Open Campus and holds a Master's of Arts Degree in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in School Counseling from the University of the Southern Caribbean.

Training and Experience

LaShawn has received training from UNICEF to facilitate Trauma Response for children ages 5-12 years and is also professionally trained in Solution Focused Counselling, Grief and Loss Counseling, and is a certified Life Skills Facilitator and Trainer. She has served as a mentor to youth at her church Redemption Worship Center where she is currently the director of the Redemption Kids Ministry.

LaShawn's passion for child advocacy began while she attended Couva East Government Secondary School. While there, she made the decision to pursue a career within the education system of Trinidad and Tobago to provide much needed assistance to students not only in the area of academia but in personal/social and career areas as well. It is her hope and prayer that each child is given the much needed assistance to have the best childhood experience in and out of school through support given to parents, teachers and students alike.

This Self-Awareness Workbook guides parents/teachers and their children/students through 5 Lessons that teaches them about their bodies, emotions and how to stand up for themselves in an unsafe situation. This workbook is age appropriate and makes an otherwise difficult and sometimes uncomfortable topic easier for parents/teachers to navigate. There are activities attached to each lesson and two stories at the end which will encourage children to use all the skills gathered in the lessons.

This Kids Scripture Colouring and Activity Book was created for children of all ages to allow them to express their creativity while learning the Word of God. It's filled with easy scriptures that children can learn and activities that are appropriate for any age group.
